Bella Mia's Internship Experience Written by Jenna Boulter

Hi, I'm Jenna! I am a senior at Central Michigan University majoring in Fashion Merchandising and minoring in Journalism. I got the amazing opportunity to have my summer internship at Bella Mia.

Bella Mia is an amazing company to work for where they truly help you learn and pick up on what your strengths are and further develop those strengths. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful to me throughout my time as an intern. For my summer internship I had to complete 10 different learning objectives where I worked closely with Bella Mia’s social media manager, Emily, learning the ins and outs of all things social media.

Emily really helped me learn what it takes and the time and effort needed to create a brands image online. I got to do things such as create and execute weekly Instagram posts for both stores, execute multiple Instagram stories, create blog ideas and help with the execution of Bella Mia’s blog. Some of my favorite things I had the opportunity to do at Bella Mia is assisting with two Bella Mia photoshoots, Summer 2018 lookbook and Fall 2018 back to school. I was able to be a co-photographer in these two shoots.

Another favorite experience was working with both Sarah and Arlette and helping with their tasks of window displays and store merchandising. It was so beneficial to me to learn from them and be able to have hands on experience merchandising Bella Mia and Dressed-up. Getting to work at Bella Mia’s events and help prepare for them throughout the summer was also a favorite of mine. Everyday at Bella Mia is fun and upbeat, I truly enjoyed coming each day I was there.

I am so grateful I had the opportunity to learn from amazing and strong women at Bella Mia. The memories and lessons I have from my internship there I will carry with me to school and in my future.
